Buttermilk Coffee Cake Recipe
I found out a great way to use Milk Product by making some delicious Buttermilk Coffee Cake. This Buttermilk Coffee Cake when served as Dessert is sure to please your family members. Ingredients
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups packed brown sugar
2/3 cup shortening
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup buttermilk or sour milk
2 eggs, well beaten
Directions
Combine the flour, salt and brown sugar in a bowl; cut in the shortening until mixture is crumbly.
Remove 1/2 cup of the flour mixture and reserve for the topping.
Add the baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg to the remaining crumbs and mix well.
Stir in the buttermilk and eggs; mix well.
Pour into a greased 8 inch cake pan.
Sprinkle with the reserved flour mixture.
Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until cake tests done.
