Sifted flour- 2 cups
 
Baking soda- 1/2 teaspoon
 
Baking powder- 2 teaspoons
 
Salt- 1 teaspoon
 
Cold shortening- 1/4 cup
 
Cold buttermilk or sour milk- 1 cup

Directions

GETTING READY
1.Start by preheating the oven to 450F degrees.

MAKING
2.In a bowl, combine all the dry ingredients, place the shortening and cut it using a sharp knife
3.Now add milk to the bowl and start mixing quickly
4.On a lightly floured pastry canvas, place the mixture and knead it for a few seconds
5.Pat out or remove 1/2 thick mixture and using a biscuit cutter cut it
6.On a greased baking sheet, place the mixture close together for crust on top and bottom, and if desired keep the mixture far apart to get crust on the sides
7.Finally bake in oven for 12 minutes

SERVING
8.Serve with any type of gravy
