Buttermilk Soup Recipe
Ingredients
3-5 walnuts, shelled
1 quart buttermilk or 1 quart yogurt diluted with 1/2 cup cold water or 6 ice cubes
1 clove garlic
1/4 cup olive oil
1 or more cucumbers, chopped
1 tablespoon water
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon vinegar
Dash of salt
Directions
In a mortar mash nuts with salt.
Add garlic and oil and continue to mash to a paste.
Mash in water and vinegar.
Stir mixture into chilled buttermilk or diluted yogurt.
Add chopped cucumber and season with salt and pepper.
