Buttermilk Cornbread Recipe
Ingredients
| Rising cornmeal | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Buttermilk | 1 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vegetable oil | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 1 large egg, lightly beaten | ||
Directions
Combine all ingredients, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Place a well-greased 9-inch cast-iron skillet in a 450° oven for 5 minutes or until hot.
Pour batter into hot skillet.
Bake at 450° for 23 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
