Directions

MAKING
1) Into a bowl, combine the flour and the shortening
2) Using the hands, mix to resemble a coarse mixture
3) Make a depression in the centre and add the buttermilk
4) Mix well, till the dough comes together
5) Onto a floured board, turn out the dough and knead lightly
6) Pat the dough flat onto the board to about 1/2 inch thickness
7) Using cookie cutters, cut out the 12 biscuits
8) Place them onto a tray
9) Bake at 450 F for 12 minutes till light brown

SERVING
10) Serve with a pot of tea or with a glass of milk
