Buttermilk Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients
| Flour | 2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| Baking powder | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 1/3 cup butter, margarine or shortening | ||
| Buttermilk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Melted butter or margarine | ||
Directions
1. Start oven, set at Hot, 450° F. Grease a baking sheet. Sprinkle the bread board lightly with flour.
2. Sift all the dry ingredients together. Cut in the butter, margarine or shortening with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture is crumbly. Add the buttermilk and mix thoroughly.
3. Turn out onto the board, knead about 1 minute and roll 1/2-inch thick. Cut out with a floured biscuit cutter and place the biscuits on the baking sheet. Brush the top of each biscuit with a little melted butter or margarine.
4. Bake about 15 minutes, or until delicately browned.
