Ingredients

 6 bib lettuce leaves or 10-12 leaf lettuce leaves
 5 cups fresh, young shelled peas
 Green onions2 , chopped
 Butter2 Tablespoon
 1 tbsp chicken stock or water
 Sugar1/2 Teaspoon
 Salt1/2 Teaspoon

Directions

Line a 2-quart saucepan with the lettuce leaves.
Add the peas.
Sprinkle on the green onions and add butter, stock, and sugar.
Cover and cook gently for 20-30 minutes until the peas are tender.
Add the salt.
Stir in lightly.
Remove from heat and cover again for another 2 minutes.
Serve in the cooking dish if possible.
