1 1/2 lb. unshelled fresh peas
 
1/2 to 1" boiling salted water
 
Season with butter
 
Salt and pepper

Directions

You'll need 1 1/2 lb.
Unshelled fresh peas (makes 1 cup shelled).
Shell just before cooking.
Cook peas (with a few pods for flavor) in 1/2 to 1" boiling salted water for 8 to 12 min.
Season with butter, salt, and pepper.
