Butter Sponge Cake Recipe
Ingredients
2 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
Directions
Beat eggs until thick and light.
Beat in salt, sugar and vanilla.
Heat milk and butter to boiling point; beat in.
Mix and sift flour and baking powder; beat in.
Turn into greased and floured 9-inch square pan.
Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
Remove from pan to rack to cool.
For dunking cut in small squares.
