Ingredients
1/2 cup vegetable margarine
2 cups raw sugar
4 eggs
3 cups unbleached white flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract
2 Tbsp lemon peel, grated
2 Tbsp orange peel, grated
Directions
Beat margarine and sugar together until creamy.
Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, until mixture is smooth.
Sift together flour and baking soda.
Beat into margarine-sugar mix ture alternately with buttermilk.
Stir in vanilla, almond extract and grated lemon and orapge peel.
Pour batter into greased and floured loaf pans.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour until cake is a rich brown.
