Butter Beans Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 pounds small butter beans | ||
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 tablespoons bacon drippings | ||
| Seasoned salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Onion | 1 , cut in half | |
| Pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm) | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Cornstarch | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Butter | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Baby limas can be substituted for butter beans, if you prefer.
Cook them the same way.
Put all ingredients except cornstarch and butter into saucepan; cook until beans are tender, about 10 minutes.
Remove onion and garlic.
Drain beans; reserve liquid.
Slightly thicken liquid with cornstarch.
Add butter.
Mix well; pour over beans.
Serve at once.
