Slow-Cooked Burgundy Beef Recipe

Ingredients
4 tbsp. butter or margarine
3 lb. round steak, cut in 3/4 in. cubes
1 clove garlic, crushed
3 onions, sliced
4 tbsp. flour
2 c. Burgundy wine
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. monosodium glutamate
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. marjoram
1/2 c. strong black coffee
Directions
Melt butter in a deep frying pan or chicken fryer with a lid; add meat and brown on all sides.
Add garlic and onions; cook until onions are tender but not brown.
Remove meat and onions from pan.
Blend flour with butter remaining in pan.
Extra butter may be needed.
Add wine, water, seasonings and coffee.
Stir until slightly thickened.
Return meat and onions to pan.
Cover; bring to a boil and simmer for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until tender.
