Ingredients

 1/4 pound lean hamburger
 Onion1 , chopped
 1 small or medium red potato, chopped with skin
 Carrot1 , chopped
 Celery2 Tablespoon, chopped
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), chopped
 Frozen peas1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 1 teaspoon low-sodium beef bouillon
 Thyme1/4 Teaspoon
 Basil1/4 Teaspoon
 Bay Leaf1
 Black pepper1/8 Teaspoon
 Few grains hot pepper, if desired

Directions

Brown hamburger with onion and garlic over moderate heat.
Add potato, carrot, peas and celery with enough boiling water to barely cover.
Add remaining seasonings and spices.
Simmer over low heat for about 15 minutes.
No salt is needed.
Vegetables and herbs may be varied according to taste and season.
