Burgoo Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/4 pound lean hamburger | ||
| Onion | 1 , chopped | |
| 1 small or medium red potato, chopped with skin | ||
| Carrot | 1 , chopped | |
| Celery | 2 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), chopped | |
| Frozen peas | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 teaspoon low-sodium beef bouillon | ||
| Thyme | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Basil | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Bay Leaf | 1 | |
| Black pepper | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Few grains hot pepper, if desired | ||
Directions
Brown hamburger with onion and garlic over moderate heat.
Add potato, carrot, peas and celery with enough boiling water to barely cover.
Add remaining seasonings and spices.
Simmer over low heat for about 15 minutes.
No salt is needed.
