Bulgur Pilaf Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Yellow onion | 1 Small, chopped | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), peeled | |
| Cracked wheat | 1 Cup (16 tbs), uncooked | |
| 2 cups chicken or beef broth | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Black pepper | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Dried sage | 1/4 Teaspoon, crumbled | |
Directions
1. Melt the butter in a 2-quart saucepan over moderate heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook, uncovered, for 1 minute.
2. Add the bulgur, and cook, stirring, for 1 minute to coat the bulgur with the butter. Stir in the chicken broth, salt, and pepper, and the sage if used. Bring to a boil, lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. The bulgur will be chewy.
