Buffet Bean Bake Recipe
Buffet bean bake is a bacon and pork beans recipe. Prepared with a medley of mixed beans with mustard sauce for flavor, this meaty bean bake is cooked in vinegar. This five bean meat bake also has fried onions for a varied texture and taste and makes a great addition to your table.
Ingredients
6 slices bacon
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon America's Favorite Mustard or Famous Sauce
1 can (16 ounces) butter beans, drained
1 can (16 ounces) French-style green beans, drained
1 can (16 ounces) pork and beans, drained
1 can (16 ounces) lima beans, drained
1 can (15 1/2 ounces) yellow wax beans, drained
1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained
1 can (2.8 ounces) French Fried Onions
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°.
In medium skillet, fry bacon until crisp.
Remove from skillet; crumble and set aside.
Drain all but about 2 tablespoons drippings from skillet; add sugar, vinegar, salt and mustard.
Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes.
In large bowl, combine drained beans, 1/2 can French Fried Onions and hot sugar mixture.
Spoon bean mixture into 9xl3-inch baking dish.
Bake, covered, at 350° for 30 minutes or until heated through.
Top with crumbled bacon and remaining onions; bake, uncovered, 5 minutes or until onions are golden brown.
