Buckwheat Griddle Cakes Or Pancakes Recipe
Ingredients
| Flour | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| Baking powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Buckwheat flour | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 1/4 cups buttermilk or sour milk | ||
| Molasses | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 2 tablespoons melted butter, margarine or shortening | ||
Directions
1. Let griddle heat slowly.
2. Sift the flour with the baking powder, salt and baking soda; stir in the buckwheat flour.
3. Pour the sour milk or buttermilk and the molasses into a mixing bowl, stir in the cooled melted butter, margarine or shortening. Add the dry ingredients, stirring only until well blended.
4. Place the batter by the spoonful on the hot griddle. Cook; turn cakes once to brown on both sides.
