Brussels Sardine Sandwiches Recipe

Ingredients
12 canned sardines
1 hard boiled egg, finely chopped
2 teaspoons prepared (Dijon type) mustard
3 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated onion
2 teaspoons finely chopped parsley
6 thin slices white bread, crusts removed
3 tablespoons butter
1 dill pickle sliced or
1/2 lemon sliced
Directions
Finely flake the sardines with a fork and combine with the egg, mustard, lemon juice, onion, parsley and 3 teaspoons oil from the sardine can.
Cut the pieces of bread in half diagonally and saute in the butter until golden brown on both sides.
Spread the sardine mixture on the slices of bread while they are still warm and garnish with halved, very thinly sliced pickle or lemon.
