Nutty Brownies Squares Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1⁄4 Teaspoon | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Egg | 2 | |
| Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Chocolate square | 2 (unsweetened) | |
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Nuts | 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), chopped |
Directions
Sift flour, measure and resift 3 times with baking powder and salt.
Beat eggs until light and fluffy.
Add sugar in three portions, beating well after each addition.
Stir in the butter and chocolate melted together in top of double boiler over hot (not boiling) water, then add vanilla.
Beat thoroughly, stir in flour mixture, then nuts.
Beat only enough to blend well.
Spread in a lightly greased 11 x 7 x 1 1/2 inch or an 8" square shallow pan.
Bake at 350° F.
(moderate oven) for 30 minutes.
Do not underbake.
Leave in the pan, cool slightly on cake rack, then cut in squares or oblongs while warm.
Makes about 16 squares.
