 Firmly packed brown sugar2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Shortening1 Cup (16 tbs)

 Baking soda1 Teaspoon
 Salt3/4 Teaspoon

Directions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Assemble Mixer.
In large mixer bowl, cream sugar, shortening, eggs, and water at MEDIUM-LOW until fluffy.
Add 2 cups (500 ml) flour, baking soda, and salt to mixture and mix at LOW until flour is moistened then at MEDIUM until smooth.
Add remaining flour and mix at LOW then at MEDIUM.
The dough should be smooth and pliable.
Do not chill dough.
Roll out dough 1/8-inch (0.3 cm) thick on lightly floured surface.
Cut into circles or other shapes.
Put onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake in preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Remove from cookie sheets while hot.
Cool on racks.
