Brown Sugar Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
| Packed brown sugar | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Dark corn syrup | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Butter | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Milk | 2 Tablespoon | |
| All purpose flour | 2 1⁄4 Cup (36 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground cinnamon | 3⁄4 Teaspoon | |
| Ground ginger | 1⁄4 Teaspoon | |
| Ground cloves | 1⁄4 Teaspoon | |
| Ground nutmeg | 1⁄4 Teaspoon | |
| Granulated sugar | 1 |
Directions
In a 1-quart saucepan combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter or margarine.
Bring to boiling; boil 5 minutes.
Cool completely.
In a small bowl beat together the eggs and milk.
Stir together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg.
In a large bowl combine the brown sugar mixture, egg mixture, and dry ingredients; mix well.
Chill thoroughly (at least 2 hours).
Roll the dough to 1/8 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
Cut the dough with small fancy-shaped cookie cutters.
Sprinkle each cookie with a small amount of granulated sugar.
Bake on a greased cookie sheet at 400° for 5 to 6 minutes.
