Brown Soda Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| White flour | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
| 1 1/8 -1 1/4 cups whole meal flour | ||
| 1 cup sour milk or buttermilk | ||
Directions
Sift white flour, salt and soda into a bowl.
Add the whole meal flour.
Make a well in the center of the flour, and pour in all the milk.
Mix to a loose dough, adding more milk if necessary.
Turn onto a floured board, and knead until the side next to the board is smooth.
Turn the smooth side up, flatten out, and cut a cross on top with a floured knife.
Place on a lightly floured tin.
Bake at 300° for about 45 minutes.
