Brown Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

 
2 tablespoons butter
 
1 tablespoon minced shallots
 
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
 
1 cup Beef Stock
 
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Melt the butter in a heavy saucepan over medium heat.
Add the shallots and saute them until they are tender.
Stir in the flour and cook 3 to 4 minutes.
Gradually add the stock, stirring constantly.
Season with Worcestershire sauce.
Simmer 10 to 15 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
Strain the sauce.
Use sauce immediately or cool, cover, and refrigerate.
Reheat sauce over low heat.
