Directions

GETTING READY
1) Get the mackerel cleaned and without slitting
2) Rub the mackerel insides with salt
3) Using a sharp knife, slit the fish on each side

MAKING
4) Into each slit, pack a slice of onion and dot with butter on the top side
5) Push the onion ring well inside the slit
6) In a preheated broiling compartment, place the fish
7) Broil for 3 minutes
8) Turn and insert the onion slices and dots of butter
9) Broil for an additional 6 minutes till the fish flakes off, when tested with a fork
