Preheat broiler 5 minutes.
Snip fat edges of raw ham steaks, and place on cold rack of broiler pan so that meat is 3 inches from heating unit.
For 1-inch steaks, broil 9-10 minutes on each side, for 1/2-inch steaks, 4-5 minutes on each side.
After turning, glaze with your favorite ham glaze, or baste several times during cooking, using maple syrup, honey, apple jelly or fruit juice.
