Directions

Heat broiler and grease broiler rack with a piece of ham fat.
Gash the fat in several places to prevent curling during cooking.
Place meat on the rack, 2 inches from the source of heat.
Broil 20 to 25 minutes on each side.
While meat is broiling, drain can of peaches.
Combine cloves, sugar and cornstarch.
Add to peach juice and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thick- ened.
When ham slice is turned, arrange drained peaches on broiler.
Dot with bits of the tablespoon of butter and broil until slightly brown.
Serve on platter around ham slice.
Pass the sauce separately.
Makes 4 servings.
Serve with corn on the cob, buttered asparagus, carrot and raisin salad, lemon sponge pud- ding.
Tip.
Any tag ends of leftover ham slice can be scrambled with eggs for another meal.
