Broiled Tomatoes Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/3 cup fresh basil leaves, minced, or 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil, crumbled | ||
| Parsley leaves | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), minced | |
| Plain bread crumbs | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Olive oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 4 medium-size tomatoes, halved horizontally | ||
Directions
1 Preheat the broiler, setting the rack 6 inches from the heat. Line the broiler pan with a sheet of aluminum foil.
In a small bowl, stir together the basil, parsley, bread
crumbs, garlic, salt, and oil.
2 Place the tomato halves, cut sides up, on the prepared broiler pan and broil for 2 minutes. Top with the basil-crumb mixture and broil 3 minutes longer or until the topping is crisp and the tomatoes are hot.
