Broiled Tomatoes Recipe
Over the years I perfected the art of making this broiled tomatoes which was taught to me by my elders. This broiled tomatoes is never going to fail as a side dish. The most important ingredient in broiled tomatoes is vegetable. Will you be able to suggest a recipe on par with this broiled tomatoes recipe? I doubt.
Ingredients
1/3 cup fresh basil leaves, minced, or 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil, crumbled
1/4 cup parsley leaves, minced
1/4 cup plain dry bread crumbs
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 medium-size tomatoes, halved horizontally
Directions
1 Preheat the broiler, setting the rack 6 inches from the heat. Line the broiler pan with a sheet of aluminum foil.
In a small bowl, stir together the basil, parsley, bread
crumbs, garlic, salt, and oil.
2 Place the tomato halves, cut sides up, on the prepared broiler pan and broil for 2 minutes. Top with the basil-crumb mixture and broil 3 minutes longer or until the topping is crisp and the tomatoes are hot.
