Broccoli Italiano Recipe
First of all let me thank my neighbor for sharing this excellent Broccoli Italiano recipe. I tried this recipe for Broccoli Italiano the other day and was totally bowled over. It is a great Side Dish. The first taste of this delightful Broccoli Italiano from the Italian cuisine is enough to addict you to it for life! Just try it once, and you'll no doubt want to prepare this for your friends again.
Ingredients
1 lb (500 g) fresh broccoli
1/4 cup (60 mL) water
2 tbsp (30 mL) butter
4 green onions, minced
1 green pepper, diced
Grated rind of 1 lemon
2 tbsp (30 mL) lemon juice
1/2 tsp (2 mL) basil
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Prepare broccoli according to your needs, as for Broccoli Nature.
Place it in a microwave-safe dish.
Add water.
Microwave covered 6 to 8 minutes at HIGH or until crisp yet tender.
Test for doneness.
Remove from microwave, keep covered and let stand 3 minutes.
To make the sauce Place the butter in a microwave-safe measuring cup and melt for 30 seconds at HIGH.
Add green onions.
Stir until well coated with butter.
Microwave 1 minute at HIGH.
Add remaining ingredients.
Stir to mix.
Pour over cooked broccoli.
Adjust seasoning.
Heat 1 to 2 minutes at HIGH.
Serve.
