Breaded Soft Shelled Crabs Recipe
Ingredients
| Breading | ||
| 2 cups fine bread crumbs | ||
| 1/2 teaspoon each: dried oregano and dried basil | ||
| Parsley | 1 Tablespoon, minced | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon, melted | |
| Extra virgin olive oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 8 soft-shelled crabs | ||
Directions
To prepare breading, mix bread crumbs with oregano, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper.
Spread on a flat dish.
Set aside.
Combine melted butter and olive oil and pour into a shallow bowl.
Reserve.
Roll crabs in melted butter and then dust generously in bread crumbs, patting crumbs so they stick securely to the crabs.
Preheat stovetop grill.
Cook crabs over medium-high heat for about 4 to 5 minutes, turning once.
Crabs are cooked when the color changes from bluish to a reddish hue and they become slightly firm to the touch.
