Bread Pudding With Raisins Recipe

Ingredients
31/2 cups milk
1/4 cup (one-half stick) butter, melted
2 cups dry bread crumbs or cubed stale bread
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup sweet sherry
1 1/2 teaspoons mace
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup seedless raisins
1/2 cup thinly sliced citron (optional)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Scald the milk, add the butter and pour the hot liquid over the bread crumbs or cubes.
Soak about five minutes, then add the sugar, eggs, sherry, spices, raisins and citron.
Pour the mixture into a buttered baking dish.
Set the dish in a pan of hot water and bake until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, about one hour.
