Homemade Bread Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 large yellow onion, peeled and stuck with 6 cloves | ||
| Milk | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper white | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Cayenne pepper | 1 Pinch | |
| 1 cup fine dry bread crumbs | ||
| 2 tablespoons light or heavy cream | ||
Directions
MAKING
1. In a saucepan add onions, milk, butter and sesonings.
2. Simmer, covered, till onions are soft and mushy. It should take about 45 minutes or so
3. Pick out the cloves from the mixture and discard them
4. Remove the onions, mince them if you like, and return to the milk
5. Add in the bread crumbs and heat over low flame, stirring constantly until thick as oatmeal
6. In the end, blend in the cream and adjust seasonings
SERVING
7. Serve as required
