Bread Or Rice Stuffing Recipe
Ingredients
| Bread crumbs | 6 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter/Margarine | 6 Tablespoon | |
| Onion | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Poultry seasoning | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 1/8 teaspoon Dlack pepper | ||
Directions
1. Use day-old white bread, trim off the crusts and crumble the white part of the bread lightly between the palms of the hands. The crumbs should be fine but fluffy.
2. Melt the butter or margarine in a large frying pan, stir in the crumbs and continue to stir over low heat until all are saturated with the butter.
3. Remove the pan from the heat and add the onion, salt, poultry seasoning and pepper.
4. Makes stuffing sufficient to fill a 4- to 5-pound bird. (The bread crumbs absorb the fat and onion moisture, so that the mixture actually measures less than the original amount of fluffy crumbs.)
