Bread And Butter Pudding Recipe
Ingredients
| Bread slices, 4 to 6 | ||
| Butter | 1 1 1/2 Tablespoon | |
| Walnuts, cashewnuts or almonds, chopped, 2 tablespoons | ||
| Brown sugar or plain sugar, 1 tablespoon | ||
| Butter | 2 Tablespoon (For topping :) | |
| Dates | 2 Tablespoon, chopped (For topping :) | |
| Sugar, 1/2 to 3/4 cup | ||
| Custard powder or cornflour, 2 tablespoons | ||
| Milk, 2 1/2 cups | ||
| Walnuts, cashewnuts or almonds, chopped, 2 tablespoons | ||
Directions
Remove crust from bread and cut each slice into 4 to 6 pieces.
Arrange in a well greased pie plate.
Combine custard powder and sugar.
Using a little milk, make paste.
Place remaining milk on fire.
When it comes to a boil, lower heat and stir in custard paste, stirring all the time.
Cook the mixture on low fire for a minute or until thick and smooth.
Stir all the time.
Sprinkle chopped nuts on bread.
Pour custard sauce on it and bake in moderate oven (180°C) for 20 minutes.
Remove plate from oven.
Combine all ingredients for topping.
Sprinkle on top of pudding and return to oven for further 10 minutes.
