Bread And Butter Pudding Recipe
Ingredients
| 6 thin slices white bread | ||
| Butter | 2 Ounce | |
| 3 oz mixed sultanas, currants, seedless raisins | ||
| Caster sugar | 2 Ounce | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Milk | 1 Pint | |
Directions
Butter bread, remove crusts and cut into neat fingers.
Line a greased pie dish with some of them.
Sprinkle in half the fruit and put another layer of bread and butter.
Beat eggs well with the milk and sugar Pour almost all into the dish.
Put on the final layer of bread and butter fingers, this time butter side up.
Add the rest of the egg, milk and sugar mixture.
Bake fairly slowly, so that the bread absorbs the liquid well, in a slow oven for about an hour.
