Brazilian Beef Steak Recipe
This is a surprisingly simple recipe for Brazilian Beefsteak - unusually rich and delicious with flavors most of us like to savor. This steak is a great accompaniment to meals or to serve for special occasions.
Ingredients
Beef Round Steak – 2 pounds, sliced into 6, 1/4 inch thick
Flour – 1 cup
Salt – 1 teaspoon
Ground Pepper – 1/8 teaspoon
Cooking Oil – 4 tablespoons
Onion – 1/4 cup
Solid Pack Tomatoes – 1/3 cup
Chicken or Beef Stock – 1 cup
Peanut Butter – ½ cup
Directions
MAKING
1) In a bowl mix together the flour with the salt and pepper
2) Coat the meat with the flour mixture
3) In a large skillet, heat some oil and fry the meat to brown on both sides
4) Remove the meat and sauté the onions in the remaining oil till tender
5) Return the meat to the pan, add the tomatoes and stock
6) Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for a low heat for about 15 minutes
7) Add in the peanut butter and continue to cook for an additional 15 minutes till the meat is tender
SERVING
8) Serve the steak with rice
