Brazilian Bean Soup Recipe
Although I havent tried the very famous Brazillian Bean Soup, yet can vouch on this recipe. Without the special Latin American black beans and Portuguese linguessa sausage, the brazillian specialty will be incomplete. Soaked beans in tomato sauce and chilli peppers are simply delicious. Why dont you guys try Brazillian Bean Soup as I will go and try my share!!
Ingredients
2 cups dried Latin American black beans
8 cups hot water
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup tomato sauce
1 large onion, minced
1 large garlic clove, minced
2 ounces salt pork, diced
2 or more small dried red chili peppers
3/4 pound fresh pork, cubed
1/2 pound Portuguese linguesa sausage
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Orange slices Watercress sprigs
Directions
Soak beans in water for 4 hours.
Add salt, tomato sauce, onion, garlic and salt pork.
Cover, bring to boil, lower heat and simmer 45 minutes.
Add chili peppers, pork, sausage and black pepper.
Bring back to boil, lower heat and simmer until beans are cooked but still hold their shape.
Discard chili peppers.
Adjust seasonings to taste.
Pass iced orange slices and watercress sprigs.
Add salt, tomato sauce, onion, garlic and salt pork.
Cover, bring to boil, lower heat and simmer 45 minutes.
Add chili peppers, pork, sausage and black pepper.
Bring back to boil, lower heat and simmer until beans are cooked but still hold their shape.
