Brandy Fritters Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Butter margarine | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Granulated Sugar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Pinch | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Milk | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 tablespoon brandy such as grappa | ||
| Oil to deep-fry | ||
| Powdered sugar | ||
Directions
Sift flour with baking powder into a large bowl; dot with butter or margarine.
Add granulated sugar, salt, eggs, milk and brandy; knead to a smooth dough.
Heat oil for frying to 360°F (180°C) in a deep-frying pan.
On a floured surface, roll out dough 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick.
Cut into 1-1/2-inch (3.5-cm) squares.
Add 10 fritters at a time to hot oil.
Fry 4 to 6 minutes or until golden, turning halfway through cooking with a slotted spoon.
Lift out cooked fritters with slotted spoon; drain on paper towels.
Sift powdered sugar over warm fritters.
