Brandied Coffee Nog Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 egg yolks, slightly beaten | ||
| Milk | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Half and Half | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Light corn syrup | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon instant coffee powder | ||
| Brandy | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Light corn syrup | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg whites | 2 | |
Directions
Combine the first 5 ingredients in a large saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
Remove from heat, stir in brandy.
Set aside.
Combine 1/4 cup corn syrup and water in a small saucepan.
Cook, uncovered, over high heat until boiling.
Reduce heat, and simmer 2 minutes.
Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until soft peaks form.
Gradually add the hot syrup to egg whites, beating until stiff peaks form.
Whisk egg whites into coffee mixture.
Serve immediately.
