Braised Spinach Recipe

Ingredients

 
1/2 kg. spinach; washed, cleaned
 
3 cloves garlic, chopped
 
1 tsp. grated fresh ginger
 
2 tbsps. soya sauce
 
1/4 tsp. black pepper
 
6 spring onions, finely chopped
 
1 egg beaten (optional)
 
2 tbsps. sesame seeds, roasted and ground
 
1 tsp. salt
 
4 tbsps. peanut oil

Directions

Remove hard stems from the spinach and chop leaves into large pieces.
Heat oil and fry garlic, ginger, add the spinach and saute for 3 minutes.
Add soya sauce and pepper.
Cover and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.
Add spring onions, egg, salt.
Stir well.
Sprinkle ground sesame seeds before removing from fire.
Serve hot with rice.
