Braised Green Beans Recipe
Ingredients
3 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 pound fresh green beans, washed, tips removed
1 cup canned tomatoes
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 cup water (approximately)
Directions
Heat oil in heavy saucepan.
Add onion and garlic; cook until golden.
Add remaining ingredients.
Juices should just cover beans in pan.
If not, add a little more water.
Cover; cook over low heat 45 minutes or until fork-tender.
