Braised Lettuce Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/2 head of romaine lettuce | ||
| 1/2 cup unsalted chicken broth | ||
| Carrots | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), julienned | |
| Shallot | 1 , peeled | |
| Pepper white | 1 | |
Directions
Wash the romaine and remove some of the outer leaves and the core.
Tear the lettuce into bite-size pieces.
Heat the chicken broth to boiling, and add the carrots and shallot.
Simmer for 3 minutes, covered.
Add the lettuce and a dash of white pepper.
Cover and braise approximately 10 minutes.
Remove the vegetables with a slotted spoon.
Serve hot.
