Ingredients

 
1 1/2 cups water
 
Dash ground red pepper
 
4 cups 2 X1/4 inch celery strips or thin celery slices
 
3 slices (3/4 ounce each) process Swiss cheese slices, cut in half diagonally
 
2 tablespoons sliced almonds

Directions

Preheat broiler.
Combine water and red pepper in large skillet; bring to a boil over high heat.
Add celery; reduce heat to low.
Cover and simmer 5 minutes or until celery is crisp-tender; drain.
Arrange celery in shallow 2-quart casserole or ovenproof platter.
Top with cheese; sprinkle with almonds.
Broil 3 inches from heat source 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese melts and almonds are golden.
