Braised Bacon Rolls Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
3 slices bacon
For frying:
2 tablespoons butter
For braising:
1 yellow onion
1 large fennel
3 tomatoes
The white of 1 leek
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup beef stock
1/3 cup tomato juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Directions
1. Trim the vegetables and cut them into small cubes. Saute the cubes in the butter over low heat.
2. Pour on the beef stock and the tomato juice. Season with salt and paprika to taste.
3. Spread the ground beef in a rectangle 1/2-inch thick on a water-rinsed cutting board.
4. Cut out 6 rectangle parts. Place 1/2 bacon slice on each part and shape into a roll.
5. Brown the rolls all over in butter.
6. Put the rolls in the vegetable mixture and braise covered over low heat for 40 minutes.
