Braided Egg Bread Recipe
This is a kick ass recipe for Braided Egg Bread which will knockout anyone who eats it. Excuse my French please. I prefer to make Braided Egg Bread as a Side Dish for all my family get-togethers. This is an ideal dish to include in today's menu.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 (1/4 oz.) envelope dry yeast
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup warm water
3 tablespoons butter
1 egg, beaten
Directions
In large mixing bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, salt, water, butter and egg.
Beat with electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Stir in remaining flour to form soft dough.
Cover; let rise about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Roll dough out on lightly floured surface into 12x6 inch rectangle.
Cut into 3 long pieces 12x2 inch each.
Roll each piece into a strand.
On lightly greased 9xl4-inch cookie sheet, braid the three strands together to make a loaf.
Cover; let rise about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Insert metal accessory rack.
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Bake 18 to 20 minutes.
