Bottle Gourd Sabji Recipe
Ingredients
| Bottle gourd | 500 Gram | |
| Onion | 1 , grated | |
| Tomato | 2 , chopped | |
| Coconut | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), grated | |
| Garlic | 6 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| Sugar | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Grams | 1 1/2 Teaspoon, roasted | |
| Chilli powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Turmeric powder | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Cumin seeds | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon pieces | 2 | |
| Ghee or oil, 2 to 3 tablespoons | ||
Directions
Peel bottle gourd and cut into big pieces.
Soak pieces in salted water.
Combine onion, coconut, grams, cumin seeds, cinnamon, pepper and powdered masalas.
Grind to a fine paste.
Add garlic.
Heat ghee in a pan and fry ground masalas.
Fry till ghee comes on the top; sprinkle some water if masala catches at the bottom.
Add vegetable, stir for a while.
Add one cup water.
Cover with a lid containing water and allow it to cook till bottle gourd is tender.
Add some warm water from lid if required.
Add tomatoes and sugar.
Cook for further five minutes.
Remove from fire.
