Boston Brown Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 cup entire wheat or graham flour | ||
| Corn meal | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 cup rye meal or ground rolled oats | ||
| 5 teaspoons Royal Baking Powder | ||
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Molasses | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Milk | 1 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1.Preheat oven to 350°F to 400°F.
MAKING
2. Combine all the dry ingredients and mix well. Add molasses-milk mixture to the dry mixture and beat well.
3. Transfer to greased moulds, making them 2/3d full. Cover and steam for about 3.5 hours.
4. Remove the cover and allow to bake till bread is dry.
SERVING
5. Slice and serve warm.
