Boston Brown Bread Recipe

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cornmeal
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 egg yolks
2/3 cup molasses
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
11/2 cups buttermilk
Directions
Combine first 6 ingredients; set aside.
Combine eggs, egg yolks, molasses, sugar, and oil in a large bowl.
Add flour mixture to molasses mixture alternately with buttermilk, beating at medium speed of an electric mixer until blended.
Spoon mixture into 2 greased and floured 1 pound coffee cans.
Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.
Remove from cans, and let cool on wire racks.
