2 tablespoons butter or margarine
 
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
 
1 tablespoon minced onion
 
1 tablespoon minced parsley
 
1/4 teaspoon thyme leaves
 
1/4 teaspoon salt
 
1/8 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
 
1 10 1/2-ounce can condensed beef broth
 
1/4 cup dry red wine

Directions

1. In heavy 1-quart saucepan over low heat, in hot butter or margarine, cook flour, stirring often, until flour is lightly browned. Stir in onion, parsley, thyme leaves, salt, and pepper. Slowly stir in undiluted broth and wine.
2. Increase heat to medium-high; cook mixture, stirring constantly, until it thickens
