Bordelaise Sauce Recipe
Bordelaise Sauce is a tasty and unique sauce that I serve with grilled beef. This Bordelaise Sauce recipe has never failed me. Try it for yourself!
Ingredients
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/2 cup red wine
1 bay leaf
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/2 cup beef broth
1 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
Directions
Combine onion and butter in 2-cup glass measure.
Cook at HIGH 1 to 1 1/2 minutes; add wine and bay leaf.
Cook at HIGH 3 1/2 to 4 minutes, or until mixture is reduced to 1/3 cup.
Strain and reserve wine.
Blend cornstarch with broth until smooth.
Stir into wine mixture.
Cook at HIGH 2 to 2 1/2 minutes, or until sauce is thickened; stir once.
Stir in butter and parsley.
Cook at HIGH 1 to 1 1/2 minutes; add wine and bay leaf.
