Directions

Peel onions under cold.water and place in pan with water to cover.
Add 1/2 tsp. salt for each pound of onions and cook uncovered 15-30 minutes until tender.
If onions are large, cut in half or in quarters.
Season with pepper and grated nutmeg , (optional) and serve with butter.
