Boiled Dressing Recipe

Ingredients
| Cider vinegar | 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
| Water | 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
| Butter | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Sugar | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Flour | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Dry mustard | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Celery seed | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| Milk | 1 |
Directions
Heat the vinegar, water and butter together in the top of a double boiler.
Combine in a bowl, sugar, flour, salt, mustard, celery seed and egg.
Add enough milk to make a thin paste.
Stir a little of the hot liquid into the mixture in the bowl, return con- tents to double boiler and cook over hot water, stirring con- stantly, until the mixture is smooth and thick.
Cool slightly and then store in the refrigerator in a covered container.
Makes about 2 cups dressing.
